If the DATA CARD button or data card LED light is not lit, or the data card LED lit but not blinking when you open the test screen the REI program can not see the data card for some reason. Check the cables from the computer to the dyno (see help with cabling on the main page).  If the lights are lit and blinking but the dyno will not run a test the data card may be incorrect or missing channels.

Next you will need to go to the HARDWARE pull down menu and select the DATA CARD option. The next window will be a warning, click through this window. The following window will be a select data card  window. Make sure the correct data card type is selected. The data card type can be found in your documentation. You can tell which data card type you have if the LED light on the data card itself is lit when the REI program open  . A red light indicates a DT data card a green light is a PMD.

If the DEMO motor is the only motor listed one of two things is wrong.

1-The key is not plugged in (see HELP WITH KEY button on first page)     help with key

2-The software has been loaded in demo mode or the data card drivers were not installed during software install.  If the software was loaded without plugging in the key to is in DEMO MODE. In both cases you will need to uninstall the REI program and reinstall. It is a good idea to run the REGCLEAN utility that can be found on the software disk in the TOOLS folder before reinstalling the software. A reinstall of the software should only be necessary if the problems developed on a new software install. If you are having problems with a dyno that had been operating fine and you have made no changes to the computer call REI tech support before reloading the software.

Once you have highlighted the correct data card click on the CONFIGURE button at the bottom of this page. If the next page shows DEMO data card properties see the instructions above for only demo motor listed.

Check the board number on the data card page. All PMD data cards should be set on BOARD 1, All DT data cards should be set on BOARD 0.

The data card configure window should list the names of all data channels. for a dyno to work correctly the data card must have a minimum of Displacement, force and velocity channels. If the channels are listed as channel 1-8 the system registry files are not loaded. If one channel is missing call REI tech support or try reloading you system registry files.

I need to reload my registry files.

All this is correct but the dyno still sill not run a test.
