There are two cables running from the dyno, to the computer, on all REI computer controlled dynos. The data cable is an USB cable that plugs into an USB port in the top back corner of the dyno. (On some upgraded models, the USB port my be in a remote mounted USB data box on top of the dyno). The motor control cable is a serial cable which exits the top plate of the dyno then plugs into a serial port or "Serial to USB Adapter" at the computer.

Dynos equipped with the newer PMD data card will have a data cable that must be plugged into the 25 pin data port (see picture below), older style DT data cards were wired internal and the data port is empty.
